Bioluminescence

**Bioluminescence, the Milky Way, Jupiter and Saturn** over the Wreck of the Peter Iredale and the Pacific Ocean, Oregon Coast, Oregon

Bioluminescence illuminates the waves of the Pacific Ocean blue as they roll onto the sand behind the Wreck of the Peter Iredale along the Oregon Coast. The Milky Way rises high into the sky above the ocean as Jupiter (right) and Saturn (left) shine brightly in the sky just to the left of the Milky Way.

The beautiful glow of bioluminescence is one of those things that makes you appreciate the wonders of nature. There's something magical about the way the crashing waves illuminate that makes you stop and appreciate life. This shipwreck occurred over 100 years ago, but bioluminescence has been occurring here on and off much longer. The light from the stars and Milky Way shining in the sky is older still. It's a wonderful mix of old and new, coming together for one beautiful sight. Nature is full of wonderous mysteries and the night sky is filled with even more. Bioluminescence is certainly one of the most wonderful sights I've seen in nature and at night. It's a beautiful glow reminding you to appreciate the mysteries of the sea.
